No-one knows why, but somehow, you have inherited the magical ability to turn anything you touch into forgotten memories. You weren't born with it, instead it just started working one day - after your 18th birthday.

When you touch an object, you hear a voice whispering in your mind, describing a memory. The memory is forgotten by everyone who knew it, even you. After a few seconds, the memory ends, the voice stops talking and the item you touched disappears.

The memories you get from the items you touch are irrelevant, random and often dull. For example, you might pick up a pen and find yourself thinking about what someone ate for breakfast, 8 years ago. You might touch a door handle, and remember a time when someone else sneezed. This has no effect on the real world - if you touched a door handle it would disappear after the memory, leaving you having to open the door another way.

If you touch another person, you get a random memory from their life, but it's not always in the first person. If you touch someone who is touching someone else, you will get two memories, one from each person. The more people you touch at once, the more memories you get.

You can't turn people or animals into memories.

What are the advantages and/or disadvantages of your power and how do you use it? What interesting things have you remembered?

(Note: please assume that the power works as described, and doesn't work differently - for example, it doesn't turn *people* into memories. There's no way to turn an item back after it has turned into a memory. There's no way to influence what memory you get. The voice always sounds the same.)

**EDIT:** This was my first post on this sub! It seems to be quite popular so far, so thank you to those who have upvoted it. Please excuse me while I read all the comments - do you have any questions about the prompt that I haven't answered? I will happily expand on the idea if you have questions about how it works.
