brother and sister who fell in love and had three kids together guilty of incest

A BROTHER and sister who say they are in love and have had three kids together have been convicted of incest today.

Full House star Jodie Sweetin’s memoirs 'unsealed' as she describes being 'gang-raped at 14'

Chantelle Lee, 24, and her brother Mark Lee, 34, appeared in the dock at Ipswich Crown Court in Suffolk, England.

Chantelle, from Lowestoft, Suffolk, waived her right to anonymity in the case. She has previously spoken out about how society should accept incest between consenting adults.

Chantelle gave birth to the couple's third incestuous child in August, after their two sons died in infancy.

The siblings were convicted of two counts of incest, with Mark cleared of a third count of having unprotected sex with his sister.

Judge Mr Justice Jeremy Cooke adjourned the case for sentencing later after Chantelle revealed she was suffering from a severe mental health episode.

Judge Cooke told the court: “I am not satisfied there is sufficient evidence that I should proceed with sentencing today. I am satisfied there is evidence of mental health issues.

“The question is what order should I make today. There are three options: to adjourn the case, to impose a hospital order, or to proceed with sentencing.

“Miss Lee’s mental health issues will be investigated, and she will be sentenced on January 12.

“At the present time I do not propose to renew Mr Lee’s bail. I have to make sure Miss Lee is properly and appropriately sentenced.”

He told Chantelle: “I have decided not to send you to prison today. It is much more likely you will receive an appropriate sentence by me by receiving appropriate mental health treatment.

“I am satisfied there is evidence of a mental health issue. I hope between now and January 12 a bed will be available for you in a hospital to receive the care and treatment you require.

“If not I will have to consider other options. I can only deal with today’s sentencing. If a bed is available at a hospital, I will have you transferred and you will be sentenced when you are more able to understand the sentencing process.”

Chantelle, who has previously waived her anonymity, previously said she and her brother had a happy childhood, but didn't meet again until she was 18 and he was 28.

Speaking about their relationship in an interview with The Sun, she said: "I’d never even seen him until I was 18. But when we first met, it felt like we had known each other forever.

"We clicked straight away. I felt so comfortable around him. We’d go to the park, to the seaside, for walks. I loved having someone I could talk to who felt the same way as me."

Chantelle claims her brother Mark then began to develop feelings for her, which she initially tried to brush off.

But she slowly returned his feelings and they eventually shared a kiss.

However, their relationship was thrown into crisis after a tragedy in 2016, when their first child, a baby boy, was born prematurely and died at just one day old.

Chantelle told The Sun she was heartbroken by the tragedy, but that her brother helped her to get through the pain.

Speaking about how she discovered she was pregnant with their first child, she said: "I was so nervous telling Mark I was pregnant. I was scared he would get angry.

"But when I told him, he was over the moon - more excited than I was. We were at the doctor’s surgery having the pregnancy confirmed.

"Mark was practically bouncing up and down. He was beaming all over his face, delighted."

The couple then went on to have another baby boy, who was born at 18 weeks of pregnancy and lived for 40 minutes.

Their third child, a baby girl, was born in August.

NHS doctors diagnosed the couple's children with severe genetic deformities, which was believed to be caused by the fact that they had the same parents.

Chantelle said she and her brother had considered terminating the pregnancies after being told of the health risks, but that they had decided not to.

She said: "I’m not ashamed of our relationship, I’m not ashamed of our children.

"I know people won’t understand and they’ll call us sick. But we deserve to be happy like anyone else."
