CMV: As a healthcare worker, if I get COVID, I'm going to send my positive test results to everyone I've come into contact with and not give AF about who gets their feelings hurt.

This idea that people are going to clam up and not say anything is fucking stupid. I have to do contact tracing for patients at my clinic who test positive and it's like pulling teeth to get a complete list of anyone they've come into contact with.

I've had patients tell me straight up "I'm not telling you so I don't have to feel guilty about making people quarantine," or "I'm not going to tell you every person because my boyfriend/girlfriend/partner already knows they were around me and it's their decision whether or not to get tested and quarantine."

I've had patients who were confirmed positive for COVID demand to be tested for other illnesses like STIs or flu because they "just don't think it's COVID and want to rule out everything else," despite being shown the results of their positive test.

I have to convince patients that their decision to not tell people they've come into contact with that they've tested positive is a shitty one that could cost lives.

If I contract COVID, you can damn well bet I'm going to send screenshots of my test results with my name to everyone I've come into contact with and not give a fuck if they feel like I'm trying to embarrass them or hurt their reputation. I will tell everyone they need to get tested and quarantine and give them the number to my clinic so they can get set up right away.
