Google is trying to make me feel like a piece of shit for having a mid 2010s laptop

In windows I find that chrome is constantly talking to google servers and telling me:

"You're using a low-end device"

"You're using a low-end device. Please disable hardware acceleration"

Essentially it's trying to force me to disable hardware acceleration, which makes my web pages load slower, and disables things like youtube's ability to reduce its quality

If I disable hardware acceleration, then the chrome browser is running slowly. It's like "Shit! You're using a low-end device! I'd best make sure that each chrome process is pulling 50% CPU so it runs slower, but hey, what do I care? It's not like I'm a hypocritical trillion dollar company that had a purpose of organizing the worlds information! Making you feel like shit is way more important"

And just yesterday, I was using the google maps website, just looking at a map to get walking directions, when chrome's ability to run javascript collapsed. I looked at my resource monitor and saw that one chrome process was using 3GB of ram! I said "fuck it" opened a task manager, and killed the high cpu process. Suddenly I am bombarded with 4 windows that all say:

"The google maps website has crashed"

And then it makes me reload the page to see the map. But when I reload the page, chrome decides to close all of my tabs because I'm using a "low-end device" and I should "disable hardware acceleration"

If I kill a process in task manager, it shouldn't throw an error. I am a user that knows what I'm doing, I know that process was using too much memory and I'm killing it to free up memory to run youtube ads. Chrome shouldn't have a mechanism to just throw an error saying "hey, you killed that process. Here is a window saying THE GOOGLE MAPS WEBSITE HAS CRASHED" Every time I try to do something on the google maps website, I just get bombarded with a window that says "THE GOOGLE MAPS WEBSITE HAS CRASHED"

I just feel like a piece of shit for owning a 2011 laptop, as google is trying to tell me that I need to buy a new laptop every 5 years, because otherwise I am a low-end device user.

The chrome browser is running slowly because it is a memory hog. Every tab has its own process, and every extension has its own process. I have 26 chrome processes running on my computer right now and I only have 2 chrome windows open. Its absurd.
