The world may be entering a "Great Stagnation"

This is a general idea I've been seeing in the general media. I wanted to apply it to the Singularity and AI.<br><br>The Great Stagnation refers to a period of economic derogation in the world where the world stopped producing innovation that made peoples lives better. This applies to the world from about 1973 onward.<br><br>Would it be possible to have a Great Stagnation with AI? What if that's actually the case? What if we just reached our innovation ceiling as far as AI is concerned and we are just continuing with minor upgrades?<br><br>&#x200B;
