What is the function of a "superior" partner?

I've been seeing this phrase a lot in the function space when people interact with a romantic partner. Someone will be like "Wow, so glad you're better than that trash. You deserve to find your function as a superior partner in a relationship."<br><br>Someone will do something, and someone will be like "Wow, you're really being a superior partner."<br><br>It's one of those phrases that seems like it was minted in the part of the mid deep end of the function space where no one is happy. It doesn't seem to function in a way that is healthy or good, but it seems like something that is seen as positive, and acieves that by guilting people into doing things that they don't want to. It seems functionally bad.
