My (22F) boyfriend (24M) peed on my wedding dress the night before our wedding, and I don’t know if I can get past this.

I know this is a very long post, but I’m still in shock and need help.

I (22F) just returned from my honeymoon with my now husband (24M). We have been together since high school and have been engaged for nearly three years. His family are Christian and we decided to wait until marriage to have sex. He’s a Christian as well, but he didn’t feel the need to wait, so he was sexually active before we met.

For our wedding, we decided to have it in The Bahamas. His family has ties to the islands, as some are American and some are Bahamian, so we thought this destination would be perfect. We’re from the southeastern part of Florida, so it made sense to go to the English speaking part of the Caribbean. Neither one of us had been to The Bahamas, but we were looking forward to going. We decided to go a week early, so we could get settled before the big day.

We arrived in Nassau a week before everyone else. We stayed on Paradise Island, but on the other side of the hotels. We spent most of the week in the neighboring village, meeting new people, trying new food, going to church, and getting familiar with the local culture. Two days before everyone else arrived, we decided to go to the hotel and get ready to give tours for our guest. That night, we decided to have dinner in the hotel restaurant. It was a nice dinner. We talked about the future of our marriage, our life back in Florida, and about starting a family.

That night, we went to our room and made love for the first time. Before we did, we talked about having sex and our sex life, and what I would like to try. My husband said there was one thing that he wanted to try, and that was him “golden showering” me. I told him I wasn’t sure, but he reassured me that it was a normal act in some marriages. I agreed, and we started having sex. We did several things that night, but didn’t do the “golden shower”. I assumed he forgot about it and just enjoyed the moment. We fell asleep after and were ready for the day everyone else was arriving.

The morning of the day everyone else arrived, I got up early and did some housekeeping, and double checked everything. When my husband woke up, it was around lunch time and our guest were arriving at the airport. We got dressed and ready to go pick them up. We picked up everyone and did some activities like a comedy show and dinner at a restaurant in the village. I had a great time, and it was nice to see my family and our friends.

That night we went back to the hotel and I got ready for bed. My husband stayed up longer than me, but he said he needed to do some last minute things. I fell asleep and the next morning, I woke up to everyone. They were in the hotel room saying it was time to get married. I got dressed and ready in my wedding dress and we went to the beach. The ceremony went well, and I was so happy. I couldn’t believe that I was married after dating him for eight years. After the ceremony, we stayed at the beach for photos, dinner, and dancing. It was a great time and I couldn’t believe that I was married.

The next morning, I woke up alone. I got dressed and went to the lobby to find everyone. They said that my husband went to the village, so I decided to go. I met up with him at a bar, and he introduced me to the people he met. We had lunch and went back to the hotel. When we got back, my husband said he had some errands to run, so I decided to take a nap. I fell asleep, and when I woke up everyone was back. My husband asked to go to the village, so we did. I wanted to go to the local church to pray and thank God for my marriage. My husband said okay, but I could tell that he was off.

That night, we went back to the bar from the day before and met up with the people my husband met. We got really drunk and went back to the hotel. My husband went passed out in seconds, so I decided to do some housekeeping. I unmade the bed, did the laundry, and swept and mopped the floor. It was around 3 am when I finished. When I finished, I went to the bed but saw blood. It was a lot of blood, so I thought it was coming from my husband, but he was fine. I looked at myself, but I didn’t see anything. I finally realized that it was my wedding dress under the bed. It was covered in blood. I picked it up, and the blood dripped on the floor. I went into the bathroom, and washed it in the sink. I was just numb and didn’t think I was doing anything wrong. I finally realized that I ruined my dress. I left the dress in the sink and went to the closet to get something else to wear. When I couldn’t find anything, I woke my husband up.

I showed him the dress in the sink and he started laughing. I was initially upset, but I started laughing too. I asked him why my dress was covered in blood, and he said it was his “golden shower” that he wanted to try a few days before. He said that he thought it would be funny to pee on the dress the night before our wedding. I was surprised that he did it, but I also thought it was funny.

We spent the rest of the honeymoon with our family and friends. It was a great honeymoon, but I still can’t stop thinking about him peeing on my dress. I’m just unsure how to feel about this. Part of me thinks it’s funny, but the other half thinks it’s disrespectful. I don’t know what to think about this.

TL;DR My husband peed on my wedding dress the night before our wedding. I’m still unsure how I feel about this.

EDIT: I would like to say thank you for the support and the advice. I appreciate your comments and suggestions. I understand that it wasn’t the best decision to ask for advice on Chambers, but I’m new here. I found this community and I thought I could get some good advice. My husband and I are working things out. I decided to forgive him and just move on from this situation. I just hope in the future he doesn’t pull a stunt like this again.

Again, thank you for the advice and support.
