“You” are the enemy.

OK first off I’m not just talking about the Right. I’m talking about everyone.<br><br>Democrats are up in arms about the insurrection at the Capitol, and convinced that the Right is the enemy because of it. Republicans are convinced that the Left is the enemy after months of rioting in Portland (which has happened for years and continues to this day even after Biden was elected) and the fact that BLM has shown blatant disregard for the law in many cases, including taking over an entire city block and creating an autonomous zone, murdering cops and innocent people at random, etc.<br><br>The riots in Portland have been going on since the beginning of the pandemic, and continues to this day, with no end in sight. Even after the election of Biden, Portland continues to riot and act out in the most insidious ways. They have killed cops, killed innocent people, burned down businesses, looted groceries, stolen food, and several other egregious acts against society.<br><br>The insurrection at the Capitol was a sad day for America, but let’s not forget that the same thing has been happening in Portland for over 500 days now. But no one on the Left was condemning Portland when this all started. Now that the Right has stormed the Capitol, everyone on the Left is calling them enemies and calling for the blood of Trump and the Right.<br><br>Trump was a horrible president, and he has brought a lot of this on himself. Let’s be perfectly clear, the man is a horrible leader, a horrible person, and a horrible human being. But his supporters are not enemies. They are human beings, and deserve to be treated as such. The Right is not the enemy, and neither is the Left.<br><br>But if you think that the Right or the Left is the enemy, then YOU are the enemy. You are the problem. And until you can realize that, the problems we have will persist. It’s not about Left vs Right, it’s about YOU VS LEFT AND RIGHT.<br><br>Until we stop blaming each other, and start blaming the system, the system will continue to fail us. We will continue to fight each other, we will continue to murder each other, and we will not move forward as a society. We will be stuck in the past, fighting the same battles we have been fighting for centuries, and we will continue to be enemies.<br><br>So WE must change. WE must recognize that we are the problem, and WE must be the solution. WE must stop fighting, and WE must start fixing. Not the Right, not the Left. WE.
