This is a product of years of pouring exhaustively into your career, burying your head in the sand as it relates to your personal life. If you have a highly competitive career, your 20's are largely spent doing just that.

Your 30's you start running into people who have kids and loved ones. You will also start to notice older people who are in the prime of their lives, and you will feel like an outcast. You will start to wonder why people can't figure it out like you have. Why do they spend their time at a job to buy things they don't need when they have a family. Why do they spend so much time at work?

You will run into the few people who are forward thinkers and in good financial standing, and the contrast will be maddening. These people will also enjoy their work more than you, so be prepared to feel stupid and like you have made a lot of poor decisions.

This will hopefully be enough of a catalyst for you to make changes, and put yourself in the best position to live your life to the fullest in the near future.
