I am not OK with video recording in my classroom

I am being told today that I must allow parents to send tablets and phones to record classes because of threats being made against teachers. The principal was very clear that if a student has a tablet/phone in class, I must allow it.<br><br>I am not OK with this. It is wrong that teachers are being placed in a position where we must either tolerate this, or if we refuse, become the villain.<br><br>I have never threatened a student, nor have I ever been even close to being violent with a student. I did not get into teaching to be treated like this. I did not get into teaching to be videotaped by students and judged on that tape. I did not get into teaching so that students could take a snippet of what I said and turn it into a social media post. <br><br>This is not how schools should be run. This is not how teachers should be treated.
