I don't think they (the people posting this) think it through.

Let's say the NFL is banned.

Who is going to take over all the infrastructure the NFL owns and covers?

Would you want the government to own and manage the stadiums? Like they do with parks and stuff? I really don't think the youth of America would benefit by the government owning and managing football stadiums.

Will a private business buy the stadiums and facilities and then restrict access to them? How is that a positive outcome?

If I was in charge I would let people build new stadiums and facilities provided they are open to the general public. But that would be just a continuation of their current business model.

Is the NFL just supposed to stop running their day to day operations and you just allow the stadiums to decay and fall apart?

You'd have to have a really well thought out plan in place to handle the transition. (Not saying I think the NFL is bad, I'm just saying, it's more complicated than just "ban it".)

Edit: It would also be nice to hear some of the rationale behind why people want the NFL banned. DO they think gridiron is too violent? Do they think the business model is bad for humanity? I'm not a fan of gridiron but I understand how people enjoy it and I don't think it's wrong for it to exist.

Edit 2: Also, I do think the NFL is a bit too big. I'm not sure the NFL is beneficial to society and our collective health. But, I'm not really sure how other sports leagues are helping us either. It seems like they mostly exist as a commercial enterprise to make money for the owners. I'm not positive that any of them are a net positive for humanity. My point is mainly that just banning the NFL is a poor solution to any problem. If football were banned then people would just still play and watch football, but then they might do it with less concern for sportspersonship and player safety.

Edit 3: I understand now that most people suggesting the NFL be banned are from outside of the United States. It seems like people just don't like the NFL because they don't like the sport of football. That's ok, you don't have to like the sport, but it's not really the NFL's fault that it is football.
