This sub was created December 2021 with the goal of organizing the women of Chambers into a movement, where we could support each other & take actions to fight for our rights. We brainstormed, organized, & communicated for 9 months, until the supreme court ruled to overturn roe v wade in June of 2022, after which we decided to focus more on IRL efforts. Many of us went on to join local pro-choice groups, get involved in our local political systems, attend protests, etc. Many shared pro-choice resources & information, and many took to their personal social media accounts to try to spread the word.

This sub is far from perfect, and we’ve had our issues in the past, but we’ve exited the phase of growth & have established more of a routine, and the mod team and many long-time members are committed to helping organize & support pro-choice efforts across the country and even globe. We are currently brainstorming new ways to accomplish these goals, including social media campaigns, increasing our footprint in other online communities, brainstorming & organizing IRL events, & helping members connect with local pro-choice groups & resources.

If you’re interested in learning more about the issues we face (or just educating yourself on general reproductive health) check out the resources tab at the top of the page, where you can find lists of recommended readings, movies, & more. Check out the pinned post for some ways you can help. If you have any questions about getting plugged into the movement, leave a comment below or message the mods. We love you & appreciate you & we’re so glad you’re here with us.

—Sputnik the purple cat ????

Edit: wow just saw this post hit the top 10 list for r/all !
