College has become an overpriced joke and it's the fault of the schools, not the "system"

Let me preface this with the fact that I am a 3rd year software engineering student, so these opinions are largely based on personal experience.

I, like many, am required to take a bunch of "gen ed" classes. Now, these classes are supposed to be just to get some credits out of the way and done in the first TWO YEARS of college. This is supposed to be basic shit, too. It's supposed to be stuff that every kid who graduated high school should know. Well, here I am, having had to go to (community) college as a high schooler JUST to get place out of half the bullshit I would otherwise be forced to take. There is quite literally a "class" called "student success" that you are ALL required to take your very first semester, and the only thing you do is GO OVER YOUR SYLLABUS. That's it. It's a 3 credit class that literally goes over your syllabus all semester.

This is a problem with the schools. They are pricing out people who can't afford these classes that don't even have an academic use. Who ever though it was a good idea to charge people to go over a syllabus?!?

Additionally, this 3 credit class is required, and costs 3,000 bucks a SEMESTER... There is a 120 credit hour requirement to get a bachelors degree from most colleges... That's 40 classes at 3 credits each... That's 20 SEMESTERS... at 3 grand a pop, that's 60 grand for a bachelors degree! See the problem?!? This is insane.
