Why are doctors so self-righteous?

I'm not going to say stuff like doctors are useless and overpaid, etc., those are just cop-out responses. But I want to know WHY doctors have to feel so high and mighty about being selfless and stuff. We don't even have to talk about a pandemic, they do this shit even in normal times. I've been with my current doctor for 2 years, she was very friendly in the first 1.5 years, but now she's just rude and makes me feel like shit for coming in when I have symptoms of a virus. I feel like I'm going to have to say fuck it and go to urgent care every time I'm sick now.
