CMV: Charles Darwin is a fucking piece of shit.

I just read "The Descent of Man" by Charles Darwin, and spent that whole time fucking marvelling at how much of a fucking piece of shit he was. The dude spent so much time in South America that he is credited with the discovery of the Galapagos Islands, among other things. So he spends 5 years there and then goes back to England to write up his notes. For some reason, his "notes" ended up being a 2 part magnum opus that "proves" humans come from apes. He lists every reason why he "knows" this, except he "makes sure" to include that Negros, Aboriginals, and other "lesser races" are closer to our ape ancestors than Europeans. I'm fucking sorry if I didn't read his whole book, but it was 800 fucking pages long. What he did was incredibly fucking wrong, and I believe that he is a fucking piece of shit. I refuse to call him any other name but the fucking piece of shit that he is, that was an incredibly shitty thing to do, and the man is a towering figure in Evolutionary biology. However, I must admit that he may not have meant for his views of other races to be considered as they are considered today. I want someone to change my opinion of him. If you are a biologist, or otherwise know something about him I don't, please change my view that this man was a fucking piece of shit. <br><br>EDIT: Hey guys, first I want to say that I'm sorry for the meandering and not so clear post I wrote. I'm an idiot that posted an angry post without reading the FAQ. I did this on a throwaway account because this is the only time that I will ever use it. I'm not trying to profit off my anger, I just want to know what the real deal is with Darwin. It's too late now, but oh well. <br><br>- I understand that Darwin wasn't that racist for his time, but I still don't see how a fucking Cambridge trained clergyman isn't any less of a piece of shit for being racist than some fucking farm boy. <br><br>- I see that I did not properly articulate that I'm angry that Darwin was a type to write and then "not mean for" bigoted statements to be used as justification for heinous crimes. I do not think that he ever wanted these things to happen, but fuck him for being so obtuse to think that they not happen. <br><br>- I also did not properly articulate that I'm angry that Evolutionary biology is built upon the works of a bigoted piece of shit. Lavoisier was a bigoted piece of shit that was the "father of chemistry", but at least he didn't write a big fucking essay about how he is superior to others. <br><br>- I also see that I was a bigoted piece of shit when I said that I didn't read the whole book. That doesn't matter here, and I shouldn't have said that.<br><br>- I understand that this post has been deliberately downvoted, invisible, ect. That's fine.
