What was life like in the years after a war in historical events in Europe?

I’ve read WW1, WW2, french revolution Russian revolution and completely bewildered by the way in which these massive events unfolded. A clash between two ideologies, empires and nations. <br><br>I want to know what it feels like live in the years after these events conclude and which direction is the country going in ? <br><br>Thanks for your help<br><br>Edit: to make it specific I want to know was it like after ww1 in Germany, ww2 in USSR, French revolution in France, Russian revolution in Russia.
