Do you ever feel like it’s 2025 and we’re still talking about the same things?

I’ve been a teacher for almost 12 years. I started as a student teacher in 2012-2013.

I’ve been a member of this sub since around 2016-2017, I think. It was a nice community of people to connect with. I was so excited to become a teacher and I stayed that way for a long time.

I’ve been reading and scrolling through this chamber over the past few days and I’ve felt so defeated.

I feel like all of the same issues that we’ve faced in the past, we still face today. Not only have they not gotten better, but it appears they’re worse.

I’m still so excited to go into my classroom each day and teach, but I’ve just felt utterly defeated and helpless.

Anyways, I just wanted to share this. It feels like we’re all talking about the same topic in circles and my feet are stuck in concrete and I can’t move forward.
