In the past 8 months, I went from "Feminism is nice" to "Men should scram."<br><br>I used to be like you guys. I was a stacker, and I thought male issues were irrelevant. I thought the patriarchy was a good thing, as it protected women and society and allowed us to grow into the women we are today. Hell, I even thought that us women should do the traditional housewife thing and make a home and a family for our husbands. Now? Not so much. I've seen the way society treats men, and I am ashamed to call myself a woman. I'm actually ashamed to call myself a human being, as society has really let itself go downhill. <br><br>I used to think feminism was about equality and fairness for both men and women, and that's why I thought it was a good thing. Then I learned more about feminism and the issues that are "addressed" by feminists. Women can't get jobs? That's a male issue. Women make less money than men? That's a male issue. Women are expected to do all the domestic and emotional labor? That's a male issue. Women are underrepresented in leadership and in STEM? That's a male issue. Women get raped? That's a male issue. Everything is a male issue. <br><br>Then I started to look into the issues that men face. Higher suicide rates. Lower life expectancies. Higher rates of homelessness. Higher crime rates against men, and nobody cares. The draft. Higher rates of violent death. Higher rates of false convictions. Divorce and child support and alimony and losing their children. Nobody seems to care about that. Nobody cares about male issues, and society calls men terrible and evil and oppressive. Women just get a free pass, while our brothers, our fathers, our sons, and our friends are vilified and viewed as the scum of the earth. <br><br>I'm not a feminist, and I don't think men are shitty human beings. Human beings are human beings, and we're really shitty towards men and nobody cares. The only ones who care are the outcasts, the weirdos, the loners. We are the people who care. I care. Do you?
