This happened to me when I was 11, and the memory haunts me to this day.
This was long before I knew anything about true crime, safety, or anything like that, but I still have no idea how the guy got in, I always close my curtains...

I live in a mobile home, and my room is at the end, it has one window on the side of the house, and one on the front. When I woke up and saw the man, all I remember is his face, staring into mine. The street light I could see through my window lit his face up enough for me to make out his dark brown messy hair and the stark difference between his tan and his bright white teeth. It’s funny, I haven’t thought about it in years, but my brain remembers the image like it just happened.

I don’t know whether it was a dream or not, but my memory is that I screamed and reached for my phone on my nightstand. I think I hit call on my moms number, and the weird part is I don’t remember anything else until my mom came running into my room asking me what was wrong. She said she had gotten a call from my number, but all she heard was me screaming and then the line went dead. I told her what happened, and we called the cops. They came and looked all around my house but didn’t find anyone.

I didn’t think of it much after that, I figured it was a dream, but now that I’m older and have been reading true crime stories, I’m scared to death it actually happened. I’ve been trying to make sure all my blinds and locks are closed at night, but I’m still scared.

Please, if you are the guy who was looking over my bed, don’t do it to anyone else, let’s not meet again.
