Can anyone show me empirical research on the success rates of Chinese parents compared to other methods of parenting?

I'm not a parent yet, and I'm interviewing for a teaching job, and I'm doing some research in the subject of parenting. I have a copy of Amy Chua's book, but although she claims the data supports her parenting methods, she does not provide any empirical data or references. I'd like to compare Chinese parenting to the American helicopter parents, and other systems of parenting. I have heard that the Indian parenting system has some statistical analysis behind it, but I don't know where to find that data. I also know that there is a lot of analysis on attachment parenting, but I'm not sure where to find that.

Can you direct me to some peer-reviewed articles on empirical data on different types of parenting, and how successful their kids are? I am looking at academic success, social skills, and happiness.
