I get a stream of messages daily from women in very difficult situations, who want to take drastic actions but feel trapped and lost and hopeless. <br><br>It’s heartbreaking to know that so many are fighting to keep their head above water, in a sea that wishes to drown them. Women from all corners of the globe, all walks of life, feel this way. <br><br>I don’t think a single person would disagree when I say, that women are fucked. All women, everywhere. We have a raw deal in literally every aspect of life. <br><br>And for those who don’t fit into the societal norms of what it means to be a woman, it’s even worse. <br><br>It’s not only patriarchal society that seeks to destroy us, we are also being attacked on all sides by other women, who have been brainwashed by the very thing they should be fighting. <br><br>They call us misogynists for speaking out, for being angry, for feeling like we want to burn the whole fucking world to the ground when we realise the true extent of our oppression. <br><br>These women do not see that their actions also oppress us, they do not see that they are complicit in the patriarchy that wishes to kill us, that they are literally helping to kill us. <br><br>Even the supposedly “progressive” ones feel this way. Take this post from r/feminism for example:<br><br>u/LetsFightPatriarchy posted this a few days ago, asking women to reflect on why we hate men. <br><br>It was met with hundreds of comments from women saying men are the oppressors, that we should never hate men, and that we should also elevate men who are allies. <br><br>I commented, I’m not going to share a screenshot, I said:<br><br>"Yes, we hate men. We hate the systems they’ve created, we hate the way they’ve treated us for all of history, we hate the way they treat us today, we hate being used as incubators, we hate being used as a resource, we hate that our bodies have been colonised, commodified, commercialised and used for profit. <br><br>We hate that we get sent to prison for abortions while men who murder us on the streets get only a handful of years in prison. <br><br>We hate that they laugh at us, make jokes at our expense, gaslight us, beat us, rape us and throw us away like trash. <br><br>We hate that they think they have the right to control our bodies, that we should “make better choices”, that we should not be a victim. <br><br>We hate that they think we owe them our bodies, just because they were born with a dick. <br><br>We hate that they think they have the right to lecture us on the meaning of womanhood, that we are lesser than them for not having a dick, that we are inferior to them because we are the sex that births children. <br><br>We hate that they think a penis is some sort of divine right to do whatever the fuck they want to women. <br><br>We hate that they invade our spaces, they talk over us, they interrupt us, they invalidate us, they erase us. <br><br>We hate that they lock us in cages and throw away the key, we hate that they trap us in marriages, in the home, in our careers. <br><br>We hate the patriarchy. All of it. Every last shred of it. We hate the fact that women are complicit in it, we hate the fact that men wish to destroy us. <br><br>We hate you. I hate you. I hate the lot of you and I’m not going to be ashamed of it. "<br><br>It got downvoted and I was reported. <br><br>It’s very clear from the state of women and the state of the world that this is a war zone. Women are being rounded up, arrested, beaten, shot, bombed, burned, drowned, boiled and hanged. <br><br>We are being tortured, executed, strangled, guillotined, gassed, beheaded and buried alive. <br><br>Our blood is being spilled, our bodies are being torn apart, we are being burned at the stake. <br><br>We have been hung, drawn and quartered for centuries, and for no other reason than that we are women. <br><br>They laugh at us, make jokes at our expense, gaslight us, beat us, rape us and throw us away like trash. <br><br>They think they have the right to control our bodies, to tell us that we can’t kill our own babies. <br><br>They think they have the right to force us to be incubators, to force us to give birth. <br><br>They think they have the right to tell us what to wear, how to act, what we can and can’t do. <br><br>They think they have a right to police us, a right to invade our spaces, a right to do whatever they please with our bodies. <br><br>They think they have a right to do all of this, simply because they were born with a dick. <br><br>They think a penis is some sort of divine right to do whatever the fuck they want to women. <br><br>These men, they think that they are our masters. That we are nothing more than their personal property, their playthings, their slaves. <br><br>And for this, we are punished, brutally. <br><br>They get electric chairs. We get steel pens. Our subtle death is no less lethal. <br><br>You cannot call yourself a feminist if you are happy to work within a system that destroys the very thing you are fighting for. <br><br>We do not fight for half the pie. We do not fight for 50% of the share, for a seat at a table that does not belong to us. <br><br>We fight for freedom. We fight for all of it. We fight for our very lives.
