I'm a professional organizer. I organize million dollar estates. It's a nightmare

I’ve been doing this for about a decade now, and I’ve worked for celebrities, billionaires, and ultra-high net-worth individuals. My job is to professionally organize homes, and I take pride in it. I’ve been to beautiful multi-million dollar mansions, with elaborate movie theaters and indoor swimming pools. But beneath all the glamour and beauty of these mansions, I’ve discovered the dark side of wealth and privilege. One thing in particular stands out above the rest: the sheer amount of trash and garbage in these homes. It’s overwhelming.

People in these circles have no regard for anyone or anything. I’ve found trash and mold in every room, including the kitchen, bedrooms, and even the bathrooms. It’s common to come across rotting food, feces, urine, broken glass, and various liquids on the floors and surfaces. The smell is unbearable and has ruined my sense of smell forever. The houses are always unkempt, dusty, and dirty. Many times these people don’t even have basic cleaning supplies, and the cleaning products they do have are often expired.

There’s no regard for safety either. I once found a wire in the floor where a great deal of water has accumulated. They are careless with confidential information, leaving important documents with passport information or credit card details out in the open. Personal care and hygiene habits are lacking as well, with used tissues and hairballs discarded on the floor. There is a lack of respect for others' property, with trash dumped in the yards or in beautiful water features. Flies and bugs are a common problem, and I've seen dirty diapers and sanitary products just thrown away in the garbage can without being wrapped up.

The clients I work with often have no idea how their home got into such a state. They will claim that they hired people to clean it, or that they themselves tried to clean it, but it’s just so filthy that I don’t know what to believe. I will say this, if you are a rich person who wants to hire an organizer, you need to get your act together. I don’t care how much money you have. If your house is filthy, I’m not touching it without a hazmat suit and a very hefty paycheck.

Edit: Thanks to those of you that have offered advice and suggestions. I have spoken with several people about possibly seeking legal action, and I have also spoken with several different cleaning companies about possibly working together as a team. I am also now requiring clients to purchase a very specific set of cleaning supplies that includes an enzyme cleaner for odors.

I am not lazy. I do need to make a living. I am simply seeking advice and letting people into my experiences. I have been doing this for ten years now, so it's not like I just started organizing and ran into this issue. It is a recent problem and it seems to be getting worse.
