Some of these kids can barely do laundry, cook a simple meal, or even read a recipe. I saw a “story” of some 22 year old guy who didn’t know how to boil noodles.

It’s not uncommon for me to see young people in the 18-24 age range who don’t know the basics of adulting. How do they not know how to do basic everyday functions? I get that everyone learns at their own pace, but it has become a common thing for me to encounter adults who are “lost” on how to do simple shit.

What if high schools made it mandatory for students to take a course that would teach these basic skills? Cooking, doing laundry, basic vehicles maintenance, how to clean a house, how to prioritize spending money, how to do taxes, interview skills, etc.

This would be a required class just like Spanish, math, English, gym, etc.

Change.
