Spent the last 2 months researching and making a prototype for a cheap and easy solution to store handguns, does anyone want more info?

I'm a machinist in my day to day work, and I have access to tons of 1/2" thick HDPE plastic at work. This material is absolutely perfect for a host of different reasons. It can withstand the weight of a fully loaded handgun for thousands of cycles, it's very cheap, and it's extremely easy to work with.

Particularly, I've been annoyed by the fact that I have more than a few guns in my house, and I want to be able to have them secured in a cheap yet easily accessible way. I did some research and really didn't like the options out there, so I decided to make my own.

I just created a prototype of my handgun lock prototype, and it works perfectly. The idea is that you can make this lock for less than $10 (depending on where you buy parts), and keep your handguns safe, secure, and easily accessible. The prototype up above is a rather complex one, as I want to see what is possible, and all the different configurations available. I'm going to make a much smaller unit that stores only two guns, that's going to be mounted under a table or desk.

The key component is a two way transfer mechanism, this allows you to keep the key locked up tight (in your safe for example), while keeping the gun in an easily accessible location. This system is not designed to be overly secure, it's just to keep an inquisitive child (or drunk roommate) from getting their hands on your firearm.

I've done rather extensive tests on this material and mechanism, and I'm completely happy with the results. The next step is to make a simple version that can be used by anyone, and that's when I'll start selling the mechanical parts like the transfer mechanism.

So, if enough interest exists, I can make a kits of different types and complexity at varying price tiers, and you guys can take advantage of them. Let me know if this is something you'd be interested in, and if so, what you'd like to see as far as configurations go!
