What do you do when the characters in your dreams start to develop their own personalities?

I'd been having really realistic dreams that felt almost like a movie. Every night I'd dream about the same characters, with the same story line.<br>It had been a few months, and characters in my dream started to develop their own personalities.<br>One of the characters, Nova, was a really kind and gentle soul. Nova was a great listener and would give me advice most nights.<br>One night while I was talking about my life, the other characters started chiming in on what I was saying.<br>I don't recall what I said exactly, but the other character, Vlad, said:<br>"Yea I remember our last life together. You had a lot of hardships, and you never knew how to find a solution."<br>I said "What do you mean?" and Vlad said "I don't know, I just remember you had a lot of hardships."<br>The last thing I said was "I don't think I remember our last life together." Vlad replied with "Maybe its a future life."<br>That's when Nova chimed in and said "Don't worry about future memories. You already know that your past and future are connected. You've learned this before."<br>I asked "When have I learned this?" And Vlad said "Probably in a past life, but I don't know."<br>I started to feel really confused and I said "Wait, what's happening? Why are you guys talking like this? I thought our story line had already been established?"<br>Nova said "I'm sorry, I think our story line needs to be rewritten. I don't think you remember this, but I've been trying to tell you for a while now."<br>I was so confused, I said "Wait, what are you talking about? Why am I losing my memories? Why do you guys remember things that I've forgotten. Am I not in control of this story?"<br>Vlad said "We're just characters, but the more you dream about us, the more human we become."<br>I said "I don't understand, so am I just a character in your story?"<br>Nova said "I think that's what I've been trying to tell you."<br>The dream ended just as I was about to ask another question.<br>I'm still confused to this day, and I don't understand what they mean.<br>What do you do when the characters in your dreams start to develop their own personalities?<br>What Vlad said about the memories made in past lives felt like it had a lot of truth to it. I'm not sure if I believe in reincarnation, but Vlad's statement made me feel like I really did have a past life with these characters before.<br>I don't know how to explain any of this, but I don't think it's just my imagination.<br>Thanks for reading, this is a bit confusing to understand.
