CMV: If you have a healthy relationship with your partner, then it is the duty of your intimate partner to check your STIs routinely.

It does not matter if you are 100% faithful to your partner. It is your job to check and get an STI check routinely. It is your partners job to take this gladly and with no fuss. This is for YOUR health, and YOUR peace of mind. If you are in a relationship, there are no barriers that can protect you from everything, so it is your job to protect yourself.

Points I Concede:

* While I will fight the CMV battle to the death on this, I do admit that there are many barriers that can stop most things.

* If you are so faithful that you cut contact with your friends when you get in a relationship, then I do not think it is needed to routinely get an STI check.

* If you are the one asking your partner to get an STI check, then it is your responsibility to get one as well.

* If you have never had sex, then this does not apply to you.
