AITA for not paying for my roommate's food after he didn't pay his rent?

Background: I own a small house in Miami and the 2 of my 3 roommates are my friends, one from childhood the other from college. 3 years ago we moved into this house and the 3 of us have more than enough money between us to cover the mortgage, utilities, insurance, etc. So I let my 2 roommates live there for free and started to rent out 2 other bedrooms. I have an agreement with my roommates that if we get an Airbnb or have a long term renter that does not want the 3 of us included in the rent/lease that they will pay a small amount of rent.

About 2 months ago we got a long term renter that did not want us included. This was around the same time my 2 friends decided to buy a house together so they moved out about a month ago. Neither paid the pro rata amount from the day they moved out. I was feeling generous so I gave them a month free before sending them their invoices.

The new renter has been there for about 3 months now and last night he made a big dinner and invited me to share half with him. I didn't know he was going to make food or would invite me over. When he invited me over and I came to the dining area, 2 of my old roommates were there eating the food. I asked the new renter if he invited them too, he said no. I asked how he got in and it turns out one of them had a spare key and they just walked in.

I was pissed at this but also very hungry so I decided to focus on eating my food first. I said we will talk after dinner. After dinner I asked them what they were doing and they said they were just in the area and thought to drop by. I told them that they had no business being in my house anymore. They argued that they pretty much lived there for 3 years and kind of had a life long invitation to come by.

This point I was fed up with their conversation and said that they owe me money and until they pay me I am not talking to them anymore. I went to my room and shut the door. They stayed until around midnight and left. This morning I had a text from my friends boyfriend that I was an asshole for kicking them out. That I was being petty because of the rent and should have let them eat their food in peace.
