The rot from within

Amidst the hype of the Alpaca and Claude hype I can't help but feel that there are a lot of problems with the creators themselves, and also the "community" of such products.<br><br>From Alpaca's support for the CHN CCP and now Claude's support for the U.S. military it feels like the creators of these so-called AI systems, so-called democracy, have no vision for the future of society.<br><br>And the community as well. We are so far from the vision of the Star Trek future where we may work a few hours a day on any project we want. We are still so far from there and now even smaller tech firms are becoming more anti-human due to the rising costs of living and environmental damage. <br><br>So, what's next? Will we see all these products become more militarized and nationalized? All rot from within, now we have to deal with corporate rot. It's such a disappointment, and I'm starting to feel hopeless now.
