Are you a “gun person”?

It seems like a lot of gun owners are quick to differentiate themselves by saying “I’m not a ‘gun person’ but…. And then go on to talk about the guns they own.<br><br>I’m not a gun person, but I have about 30 of them. I’m not a car person, but I own a few of them. I’m not a shoe person, but I own a whole bunch of shoes. <br><br>Why do we do this? I thought it was a normal thing 10 years ago but now it’s becoming so normalized in a way that i think it’s actually being counter productive. This is a golden age for guns. They have never been more popular, accepted, or normalized. This “I’m not a gun person” takes a bunch of the power away from pro gun people who are just trying to live their lives and enjoy a hobby.<br><br>I’m a gun person. And I’m not embarrassed to admit it.
