I have a B.A. in Public Policy with a concentration in Local Politics and Government.

I’ve done a ton of internships in local government and worked in government, but despite all my experience it’s impossible to get a job in government unless you know somone or you live in a big city. I’m living is a suburb of Chicago and I have tons of experience on paper. I’m relied on to volunteer to help in local elections, I’ve worked on campaigns, I’ve worked in government, I relied on at my current job; but it means nothing. I’m praying the only guy at my current job that can do what I do dies so I can take over.

This relied heavily on knowing people and banging; however, it relies much more heavily on nepotism and your daddy knowing the right people.

I feel like if I didn’t go into government and instead went into business, I’d be much better off. Business all you need to know is how to network and find ways to get ahead. With government, it’s who you know.

I can’t wait to move out of the USA.
