How to come up with good map names?

I've recently been generating maps with this tool to generate maps and have come up with many potential continents I could use for my worldbuilding story. But then the point came when I had to actually name these places, and I had to admit, I don't know how to do that. I have used suggestions from the map tool itself but I want to develop something that not only matches the map shape but, for example, is actually used by its inhabitants to describe their territory. I don't want to be like Tolkiens who just says this is something like a real name from a real culture but with 'e' and 'a' swapped.
