I'm not here to rant. I need to come up with a plan to actually change my situation. I'm a 24 years old with a degree in computer science, no job, and a 80k student loan debt. I'm living with my boyfriend, who has a great salary (also in computer science) and is trying to help me. But I need a better plan. The situations is intense and I'm poor at handling stress and uncertainty.

My main problem is I have no passion for computer science. I did it because I thought I did, and then I hated it. I hated my time in college and I hated my internship, and I've come to the theory that I just hate tech and I don't want to be in this field. I have completely no interest in tech and I don't like anything about tech.

I'm currently trying to get a job in software development, but it's not going well. Recruiters ignore me and I've not gotten any interviews. I've also applied to a lot of jobs in software development and I've only gotten one response back, which was negative.

I'm currently trying to get a job in software development because I want my experience in tech to amount to something, I want to have a job and a salary, I want my boyfriend and I to start our life together, and I want to start paying off my loans. I also feel a tremendous amount of pressure to do this from my parents and my friends.

But I'm also going to apply for a master's in library science in spring '25. I want to be a librarian because I have a passion for education and knowledge, and I've always loved libraries and the work that libraries do. I'm really excited about this experience and I'm really excited about having a job in a field I care about and I'm passionate about.

I want to have a Plan B with my experience in tech.

What options do I have with my experience in tech? I have a degree and I've had an internship. I also did a lot of projects, and I'm experience in a lot of programming languages and tools. What experience and skills do I have? What career or jobs could I have with my experience?

Or should I keep trying to get a job in tech? What are the chances of my experience and degree amounting to anything? I'm really confused and really stressed. Should I give up on tech? Should I keep trying? What are my options?

Can someone help me come up with a plan?

TLDR: I have a degree in computer science but no passion for computer science. I'm trying to get a plan to actually change my situation. Right now I'm trying to get a job in software development and I'm going to apply for a master's in library science. I want to have a Plan B with my experience in tech with my degree and internship. What options do I have?
