I was fucking with this girl and I had no idea that this would fucking hurt her so much

So basically this girl live in the other side of the city and she offered to come to my place the other day(not for fucking) and it was raining and I didn’t want her to come all this way just for us to hang out but she came and while were hanging out she told me that she really liked me and that she wanted to date me and she was fucking sad that I rejected her and I still don’t understand why this hurt me so much but I think that society contributed to this feeling and at this point I don’t know what to do
