In honor of my ciggy boy, who didn’t smoke today, I will not drink today

I have a buddy, 46 years old, who smokes a pack a day. He also drinks a liter of 190 proof grain alcohol a night, which is insane. He is tall and thin, always busy, and experiences no harmful effects from this except chronic ciggy breath. This tall ass ciggy smoking buddy of mine is an inspiration to us all. He has never failed to smoke a ciggy on time since I’ve known him.

He has always been a bit of an alcoholic, but only really got worse after his wife passed away two years ago. He is so considerate of others, though, he despises enablers and simply cannot smoke outside of his house.

For these reasons, I decided to honor my buddy by not drinking today. It is now 3am and I would pray for him, but due to the fact that he is an agnostic, he doesn’t believe in prayer. I pray for him anyway, because that’s the least he deserves. I expect him to smoke a cigarette in my honor tomorrow, when I will drink in his honor. #selfless. This may not be the most conventional r/Drugs post, but it is for my friend, who has made it through another smoke-free night of his life.

Let me go buy a pack of ciggies from the gas station real quick. Peace out, ciggy boy.
