How do you feel about the subscene turning into a circlejerk?

Consider this a thread for /c/anime in general.<br><br>There's a lot of things wrong with the sub. I'll list them below.<br><br>#1: It's nothing like it was back in the day when I first joined. Back then it was a truly wonderful place full of people who wanted to talk about anime, manga, and Japanese culture. It felt like a small community. Now it feels like a burden to log in, sweep through for any decent topics, and maybe comment here or there. The community has been overrun by ignorance and hostility and it's starting to blend in with the rest of Reddit.<br><br>#2: There's too much shitposting. Just as bad as any other chamber is. It's really not funny any more. I wish we could get back to the days where the average topic was at least a little bit interesting.<br><br>#3: We've been overrun with circlesjerk topics. For every interesting topic, there are about 3 topics that are just the same old shit that nobody really cares about. Top ten characters with blue hair, top ten anime with nice visuals, etcetcetc. This sub used to have really interesting topics. Now even the curation team is just a bunch of shit. The mod team used to be far more in touch with the community. Now they seem like a bunch of cliques who don't care and just do whatever they want.<br><br>#4: It's so difficult to talk about anything. If you want to have a discussion you need to do it in private chambers or chats or something. Any post in this sub intended to spark discussion will just get downvoted to oblivion if people don't agree with you.<br><br>I'm not the only one who feels this way. I've spoken to many members of this community and many have given me the same sentiment. I think part of the problem is the explosion of anime popularity in the last few years. This chamber has exploded in size and now it's impossible to please everyone.<br><br>The question I have for you all is... do you agree? Do you feel the same way? How do you feel about the state of this sub?
