I know "Evan Hansen" is a divisive movie, but ...

I saw it tonight for the first time and... I loved it. Ever since I was a kid, I've wondered why there are so many shows and films about teenage romance, but why the female lead is always the pretty girl at school, only to be attacked by many for not representing real-word ugly girls (and a few for promoting unhealthy standards of beauty, etc). I've always wondered... well, why not? Why can't we have a romantic lead who is pretty big?

It may not be for everyone. Generally I'm not a "musical guy," but... I was surprised. The film was incredibly sweet. It was very funny. It was incredibly raw and honest. It was beautifully written. And it had something I had never seen before in a movie... a big, plus-sized teenage girl who doesn't look like a plus-sized supermodel, but is unapologetically depicted as a romantic lead.

I liked this film tons.
