I'm absolutely done with people

I used to love people, always tried to help those in need. I volunteered at a local animal shelter (and still do), I used to work at a school with special needs kids, I've donated what little money I have to charity. I've been a girl's scout, helped out at soup kitchens, I've helped my friends with their personal problems when they asked, I've been an ear to listen when someone needs it.<br><br>I thought having a nice beach day sounded like a good idea, so I went out to the beach (it's actually a river connected to the ocean here but no one where I live calls it that). I picked up a few pieces of trash, but I didn't have a trash bag on me, so I just put the pieces of trash in my pocket and held them until I found a trash can. I finally found one and put the trash in the can.<br><br>As I'm putting the trash in the can, I hear from behind me, "Wow you're dumping so much! You should feel bad!" I turn around and see a middle-aged man, probably drunk, and his wife/girlfriend with him, who was probably also drunk.<br><br>I immediately get very defensive and say, "Uh, excuse me, I'm trying to clean up the beach here. This is trash I found on the ground. I'm not dumping my own trash on the beach." This guy literally starts going absolutely bonkers on me, saying I'm ruining the planet, and how I should be in jail, and how if he was my dad he wouldn't be proud of me. He was just absolutely going nuts! I tried to just leave but then he starts implying I'm some kind of "bitch" who gets off on trying to hurt the environment and that we should be more strict on the environment and that I should be in jail. I told him, "I'm literally cleaning up, not dumping." He told me if he was the police he'd have me arrested. He compared me to a litterbug even though I literally told him I wasn't dumping my own trash. I literally told him I had no garbage bags on me so I put the trash in my pockets until I found a disposal. I even showed him the trash CAN I was using. Seriously, who does this? I told him, "I think you're drunk. You should feel bad." And I just left. But honestly, fuck that dude. I'm absolutely done with people.
