I feel the need to share this before I forget about it, i’m European btw. Last year I dated a girl who worked as a( trainee )nurse, a lot of our conversations were about her work. She’s a very open and honest person and from the way she talked about the hospital I got the feeling something wasn’t right. One day I asked her ‘Do you think Covid is as bad as they make it seem like’, to which she answered ‘I wouldn’t say it’s harmless, but it’s definately not as bad as they make it seem like’. Which really heightened my suspicions( I was already skeptical of the whole Covid situation, but you can’t really be sure about anything anymore with all the contradicting information). So I asked ‘What does a Covid ward look like’, to which she answered ‘We don’t really have a Covid ward, most of the time there’s just 2 or 3 patients in that ward and I think only once I saw a patient who was on a ventilator because of COVID, but that patient already had very bad health due to age and other reasons’. I asked her if she knew whether or not a lot of people were getting admitted to the ICU due to Covid, she answered by saying she didn’t really have anything to do with the IC, but she thought it was pretty calm, she did however say the emergency ward was nearly always packed.

She talked about a lot of other questionable things she had to do at work, like how she had to register all deaths as COVID deaths as long as the patient had tested positive to the virus at any given point, without any further testing to see if they still had it, even if they didn’t have any symptoms whatsoever. She also had to lie to the patients about the food; the patients weren’t allowed to go to the canteen to buy something to eat, so they had to rely on the nurses to get them something to drink/eat. She had to tell them that everything was closed, when in reality they were open. She found it very morally conflicting to lie to sick people.

She would also tell me about how the staff( nurses, doctors etc.) were being threatened to not say anything to anybody about what was going on in the hospital. As far as I know she never got in trouble for talking to me about it.

She wasn’t the only one who told me this stuff, a close friend of mine( he’s also a nurse and worked in a different hospital) said he had the same experiences.

So yeah, I just wanted to share this, I’m not sure if anybody will even read this but I wanted to get it off my chest because it’s been bothering me for a while.
