Americans are ruining Europe

British guy here. My girlfriend and I are traveling Europe right now and I’ve noticed an upsetting amount of Americans acting like pricks.

Today, I watched a group of Americans laugh as one of them pretended to be a beggar outside of a church. They made jokes about the Pope and the Vatican, and acted like general assholes towards the locals. This is just one example, I’ve noticed many more guys acting like spoiled douchebags in the streets, restaurants and on public transport.

I know it’s not all Americans and I know what the internet is so no need to tell me that. Just a valid observation I wanted to express.

Edit: the term American is stuck in our language, so I’m not calling anyone from Canada/Mexico whatever an American, it’s just the term that we use. No hate.

Edit 2: I say ‘ruining Europe’ for the sake of clicks, what I really mean is that I’ve noticed a stark contrast between how Americans behave compared to how others from English speaking countries behave.

Edit 3: I’m the guy who posted this, just to add, what I believe is happening is that post-covid Americans are coming off the cliff, now that borders have opened, and they’re coming over uneducated about what to expect from a completely different continent of cultures, customs, different ways of living etc. I’ve noticed this trend of ignorance just accepted by many now, and it’s very very annoying to see.
