I think there's a hole in the market for a privacy-focused review site.

Here’s a short bullet point list of some of what I have in mind:

* No ads
* No tracking beyond server logs
* No account required
* No mods or paid reviewers
* No pay to get your product in front of more people
* No paid reviews
* Ansel & Black Mirror-style "overall danger" ratings for different products

Overall, very minimalist. No nonsense, no BS.

Concrete example:

I recently stepped into an Apple store to buy my first AirPods. I was happy with my AirPods Pro 1, so I went to buy another pair. The (very polite) salesman at the Apple store said that he wouldn't recommend them, since they're old and they're not the best any more. He recommended AirPods Pro 3 instead, which was quite a bit more expensive. I said that I didn't care about the price and I just wanted the best pair of AirPods. His answer: "in that case, you should go on Amazon and buy the Samsung ones. They're better. They have better sound quality, better ANC, and they're better priced."

I was sort of surprised. He works for Apple, and he's telling me to buy Samsung? So I did what he said, and he was right. The Samsungs are an extremely good pair of earbuds, and they're extremely cheap, and everyone seems to know that except me in that moment.

That's what this site would aim to be.
