Couchsurfing

For a short time, I left my cat with someone I had never met & thought I was about to end up as a couchsurfing lnm. At first they seemed very nice. But I had this nagging feeling with every text conversation we had. It was mostly words of affirmation as when I sent url links to photos of my cat, they said they didn't let apps access their phones. That made me suspicious. But they said they had a kind heart. They were also Christian, but the confirmation was that they had a cat. I thought if rhey were a cat lady they wouldn't be cruel to mine. But the night before I had to leave, it came out they were male. I was about to chicken out but they said they understood animals better than people because their mother was a vet for animals. The night I had to leave, I was a nervous wreck but knew I had to go... I couldn't think clearly I was so scared. When I got there, it was a small house in a disadvantaged neighborhood. When he answered the door, I passed out. He never came to check on me. My friend who took me there went in with him. After 20 mins he finally came out. He said, "this is ridiculous. I'm outta here." My friend said to this guy, "no disrespect but we're not up to your standards." The man said, "you're not up to my standards." They said he was left with nothing for my poor cat but a can of tuna. This was back in 2003.
