I'm done with shonen

I've come to finalize my decision, I'm bloody done with shonen. It's just a bunch of over-hyped garbage. I'll never understand what people like about these shows, and I'll never understand why people defend them. I watch anime to escape to enjoy myself, not to be fucking annoyed by the characters all the time.<br><br>The stories are generic, unoriginal, and predictable. It's always the same shit. A kid finds out that he's the chosen one, or that he has some sort of superpower that makes him special, and he's destined to defeat some big bad villain who's threatening the world. Wow, what a completely original and unique concept.<br><br>And don't even get me started on the characters. The main protagonists are always the same - some generic, one-dimensional, self-insert character who's destined to save the world. They're all so fucking boring and uninteresting, with no depth or development whatsoever. And the side characters are just as bad, if not worse. They're either just background characters who are there to provide some minor plot points or to fill some generic character archetype, or they're just a bunch of cardboard cutouts with no personality or depth whatsoever.<br><br>And then there's the dialogue. Oh god, the dialogue is cringe-worthy. It's always so forced and unnatural, with characters spouting off the same generic lines over and over again. "I'm going to protect my friends!" "I'm going to defeat the bad guy!" "I'm going to save the world!" It's just so fucking cheesy and predictable.<br><br>And let's not forget the fucking plot armor. It's always the fucking same. The main character gets hurt, but somehow he's able to recover and come back stronger than ever. The plot armor is just so fucking ridiculous and unrealistic. It completely ruins the tension and suspense of any fight scene.<br><br>I'm just so fucking sick of shonen. I'm sick of the generic, unoriginal stories. I'm sick of the boring, uninteresting characters. I'm sick of the cringe-worthy dialogue. I'm sick of the fucking plot armor. I'm just so fucking done with it.<br><br>I'm going to go watch some moe anime now, something that's actually enjoyable and doesn't make me want to pull my hair out in frustration.
