*Attention witches* You guys are being conned by the freakin' patriarchy.

I've been seeing a lot of "traditional witch" posts on the sub with some really gross rhetoric. Anti-transness, anti-feminism, "traditional gender roles" etc. This is kind of the same crap that was in the "traditional" pagan groups that I've seen which made me feel disgusting.<br><br>A lot of these "traditional" groups are either run by men or heavily influenced by the patriarchy. It's part of the spin to take over and silence women and make us feel like we're inferior and should be subservient to men. I know a lot of you are angry with the "feminist movement" or are even anti-feminist but we need to remember that most of this anger is misplaced and the patriarchy is *EXCELLENT* at using women to silence women.<br><br>A lot of you, especially the young witches, are being conned into believing whatever men are telling you is right. You're being pandered to and lied to. I don't know why, as women, we are letting other women be treated like second class citizens.<br><br>This sub IS patriarchal. I know I'm going to get downvoted but this is the truth. The women here are telling other women to be ashamed of their bodies, to be subservient and obey men and to go back to the traditional gender roles. We were BORN to be free. You shouldn't be ashamed of your bodies. You're not slutty because you have sex. You don't have to obey men. You are equal.<br><br>I am angry. I am hurt. I am disappointed. I am ashamed of the women here who are against feminism and against women's rights. I am ashamed of the women here who are telling other women to hate their bodies and be subservient to men. I am ashamed that so many of the women here are supporting the patriarchy and supporting the silencing of women.<br><br>Fight back. Take back your power. For thousands of years, the patriarchy has taken and taken and taken from us. It's time to fight back and take back what's rightfully ours.<br><br>Edit: I should say that I'm not against traditional witchcraft. I'm against people using traditional witchcraft to support the patriarchy and hurt other women.
