Cross country road trip by myself as a woman

I’m planning on taking a road trip from Texas to California right after Christmas. I’ve done a road trip by myself before but I’ve never done one across several states and I’m curious if anyone has any advice of what to do and where to go. For some background, I’m a 30 year old college educated woman, I understand I might be in danger out on the road but I’m just looking for general advice on what to do for the most part. I’ve already started looking at the most dangerous cities along the way to see if I can avoid them all together. I’m also bringing my dog with me so I’m looking for dog friendly locations to stop and visit. I will have a car full of camping gear as well so I might end up staying the night at a campsite along the way, would that be safe just by myself?<br><br>I’m planning on staying on I-10 the whole way so any suggested stops along that route would be awesome! <br><br>Any help is appreciated! <br><br>TIA!
