So I (30m) went to visit my sister (32f) last week with my wife (29f) and our 3 kids (8m, 5m, 1m).

We got there and my nephew (16m) and 2 nieces (16f and 13f) are all in the living room playing games and watching movies.

My sister comes over while I'm setting up the boys and asks if I can take my Carhartt denim coat off because she doesn't want it to get ruined while I have the baby. I tell her no it's fine I'll just roll up my sleeves. She insists again and I'm shocked but comply. I hang my coat in the closet.

Later that evening as we are getting ready to leave. I go to the closet to grab my coat and it's not there. I ask my sister where it is and she says that the 13 y/o wore it to the store because it's cold and she doesn't have a coat.

Now I'm not sure if it's just me but, I take pride in everything I own. I've had that coat for 10+ years. It is my favorite coat and I will probably pass it down to my boys when I die.

Should I take my sister and niece to small claims court for the damage of my coat? Should I just let it go? I'm not really looking for any money He'll I'd probably just ask for the 30$ I paid for it. But the point is if she is going to use something that doesn't belong to her she should take care of it. Also for S&G my niece wears a large and I wear a 3x so she had to adjust the coat to fit her.
