People who say "humans weren't meant to work" have no basic understanding of how a society functions

I want to preface this with: I think that salaries are too low to be able to live comfortably and that there are way too many ultra rich people and that there should be a change regarding this. However I think this change should happen by shifting wealth and not by making work obsolete. Some people say that with current technology every person should be given everything they need to live without having to work, because technology can produce everything people need on its own. What necessities do you need in your life other than food, shelter and healthcare? Because if you need anything else than that, you are by definition not living comfortably. If everybody gets "everything they need" to live comfortably, you need to take that definition from somewhere and it can't be your personal definition. I think that my definition of living comfortably is different from yours. Now, who is going to make that decision on how each person has to live? The government. The government decides how big your house is, what car you can own and how much vacation you can go on each year. I don't know about you, but that sounds like a lot of room for corruption. Also what work will be lost and how many jobs are going to be eliminated. I can't think of a single profession that is 100% automated. So that means that every profession needs people who run the machines. So who chooses which person gets which job? The government. I also don't think that a world where everybody gets the same is a good solution in my humble opinion.
