The people in the Middle Ages believe that the first people lived longer.

Adam lived for 930 years. Noah lived for 950 years. What would these numbers mean if the people believed Adam lived longer? That we must be living in a time of decline. We are no longer living for thousands of years. In fact, we are living for such a short time, that they thought we were approaching the end.

People believed Noah lived longer than Adam. What does this mean? It means people are living shorter and shorter lives. We are the outliers. This means people have always lived longer than us. We believed older people lived longer. We are living in a time of degeneration. We are not the peak of humanity.

The leaders of the Middle Ages tried to make this more concrete. The longer you live, the more wisdom you acquire. They believed people living for thousands of years were guardians of great wisdom.

This means some people living in the Middle Ages knew about dinosaurs. It's believed that the world is getting better. This means the world is getting worse.

The only reason we don't know about the world before us is because the information doesn't exist.

Where did it go?

Remember Socrates, Solon, and Plato? They believed we had a great lack of wisdom.

They believed great wisdom existed before us. They believed the world before them was better. This is not what we think at all. We believe the world before us was worse, more primitive, and people were more stupid.

They believed they were living in a time where wisdom was being lost. We believe that we are living in a time where wisdom is being gained. This is the opposite of what we think.

This idea was widespread in the Middle Ages. It wasn't just one person that thought this.

If people are living shorter lives, that means they acquire less wisdom. If they acquire less wisdom, that means the wisdom that exists is being lost. This means the world is more ignorant. What does this mean for politics, religion, art, science, engineering, and philosophy?

This means that the politicians of today are more ignorant than the politicians of the past. This means the religious leaders of today are more ignorant than the religious leaders of the past. This means the artists, scientists, engineers, and philosophers of today are more ignorant than the artists, scientists, engineers, and philosophers of the past.

That's what this means.
