Am I dreaming right now? I just tried a technique called ASMR and it sent me into a daydream kinda like a dream while still kinda being awake?

Can dreams be manipulated by humans? So I was scrolling through YouTube and I heard static sounds like tapping and crackling, and i thought "oh hell no, not the ASMR kids" but I noticed that when I listened to it for a few minutes I feel like I'm in a daze, but I don't think I'm asleep because I'm still watching the video, but it's like a daydream, like I'm projecting myself out of my body and just dreaming, but I can still hear the noises around me, I can still hear the video playing, so its kinda like daydreaming I guess, but I don't know if I was dreaming or not.. how does something like that work? aren't my dreams up to my brain and not some video on the internet? can anyone explain it more? I'm still dazed by it and I don't know how it works lol.. is it similar to hypnosis? how does it manipulate our minds?
