CMV: Only people who earn more than $200k should have more than one child.

I have been doing some reading on the environment and different ways to help reduce your carbon footprint and my friend brought up the point that having children is one of the biggest ways to hurt the environment. It costs so much to raise a child and the more children you have, the more money you need to spend on them. <br><br>Talking about it more my friend brought up the point of how they recently heard of people who have two houses, one in the mountains and one in the city. They noticed how these people often have more than three kids. They said how people who earn less than $200k are the people who are struggling to make ends meet and thus produce more pollution by those extra two kids that they have.<br><br>I personally don't have kids of my own but my parents have two children. My friend has two younger sisters as well, which is probably why she feels this way.<br><br>EDIT: Okay, guys, I get it. I don't think my friend has talked about this topic to the people who make under 200k. Apologies if this was not your cup of tea. But, the next time I talk to her, I will bring up your points and see what she has to say. I'll update this post if she changes her mind. <br><br>Also, you guys do understand that this was not my opinion right? I agree with almost all of you which is why I posted this. It didn't make sense to me and I wanted to see how you guys would react. So, let's just say you guys won and she lost. Thanks, guys!
