To the people complaining about the number of posts in this sub

Let me start by saying that I understand why you’re complaining. Yes, you’ve been warned but it still sucks that you picked up an infestation. Yes, you’re tired of the flood of posts but that means that a ton of people are frantically trying to protect their homes. I understand being annoyed by the sheer number of repetitive questions, but you know what you do when you’re frustrated? You take a shit and move on with your day.

This is a great sub because it’s full of people actively trying to do something about their problem. How many times do you see someone from the public complaining about the bug problem, but not taking any steps themselves to help. This sub is full of people that are actually taking the initiative to do something about it, to get educated to make sure that this doesn’t happen again next year. To help each other. We don’t need to be tearing each other down.

Instead of complaining, why don’t you help answer some of the questions? Because by helping everyone else you also help yourself. You help yourself feel a bit better during a time when you’re frustrated. You help yourself by reminding yourself that you’re not alone, and in this shitshow of a world we live in, that’s something that I feel we need more, not less.

You can also go out and do something about it. Work at a university that has an extension office? You can work with them /influince them to do something about the problem. You can talk to your local government about it. You can post photos of the damage on social media and bring light to the situation.

Yes, you were warned, but you’re still stressed. So you can take that stress and use it for something positive. Or you can keep complaining, but that’s not gonna build your house back. That’s not gonna fix the smell. That’s not gonna protect your home for next year.

So that’s my two cents, my rant, my plea to you all to be kind, to be compassionate and to just be shit human beings. I wish you all the best.
